Description
The social service division of the Department of Social Sciences was established with the beginning of the spring semester “2004", then it became a department of the school of Humanities, within the framework of the expansion and independence of the Academy's schools and departments.
Vision
Contribute to the processes of education and scientific research, to meet the requirements of distinguished students, and within the framework of the philosophy of society.
Message
The Department's mission is to refine and prepare competent cadres (practically and theoretically) to contribute to changes in society and address its issues.
Goals
The objectives of the department are focused on the general goal of localizing the profession of social service in society, in order to develop units of humanitarian units and overcome their problems in various fields, and the following sub-goals branch off from the general goal:-
- Localization of the profession of social work in all walks of life.
- Enabling students with outstanding competencies and abilities to enroll in graduate studies at the Department.
- Refine and prepare the Department's students practically and theoretically to work in social work journals.
- Identify the different problems of society according to their priorities.
- Studying, analyzing and diagnosing the problems of society and investigating their causes.
- Work to overcome and remedy the obstacles of society. Based on the experiences of others.
- Providing technical advice “within teamwork " to address complex community problems.
- Directing students to conduct in-depth field research that addresses society's issues and problems.
- Cooperating with other relevant departments locally and internationally to hold seminars and conferences that address community problems.
- Contribute to the preparation of human development and awareness of its responsibility to raise awareness at the individual, group and community levels.
- Commitment to professional ethics that ensures the integrity of balanced work and justice in professional practice.
